{"id":54678,"date":"2021-02-03T12:19:28","date_gmt":"2021-02-03T12:19:28","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.newangliagrowthhub.co.uk\/?p=54678"},"modified":"2021-07-13T13:41:45","modified_gmt":"2021-07-13T12:41:45","slug":"plant-based-pizza-company-gets-investment-top-up","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/bedotdev.com\/newanglia\/plant-based-pizza-company-gets-investment-top-up\/","title":{"rendered":"Plant-based Pizza Company Gets Investment Top-up"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><strong>A plant-based pizza company from Norwich has secured \u00a3360,000 of investment following a successful Dragon\u2019s Den-style pitch, to help boost its production and expand into new markets.<\/strong><\/p>\n<div class=\"elementor-element elementor-element-b2f9ae7 elementor-widget elementor-widget-theme-post-content\" data-id=\"b2f9ae7\" data-element_type=\"widget\" data-widget_type=\"theme-post-content.default\">\n<div class=\"elementor-widget-container\">\n<p>One Planet Pizza, which was started by father and son team Joe and Mike Hill, successfully pitched to angel investors via Anglia Capital Group and secured co-investment from New Anglia Capital, the equity investment fund set up by New Anglia Local Enterprise Partnership.<\/p>\n<p>The money will support the company in tripling its current production capacity, securing new retail outlets in the UK and expanding into the European market.<\/p>\n<p>New Anglia Capital co-invests alongside experienced angel investors to support successful projects, with the aim of stimulating entrepreneurship and economic growth across Suffolk and Norfolk.<\/p>\n<p>Joe and Mike started off making the pizzas in their restaurant kitchen in 2016, but quickly outgrew this space and moved to their own purpose-built production unit in Hethersett, Norwich. They are now the UK\u2019s leading frozen vegan pizza company, producing and selling a range of award-winning classic plant-based pizzas.<\/p>\n<p>They successfully secured over \u00a3115,000 towards their round, from local Anglia Capital Group members and\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/newanglia.co.uk\/grant\/new-anglia-capital\/\"><strong>New Anglia Capital<\/strong><\/a>, all of whom are fully supportive of their vision to reduce our carbon footprint.<\/p>\n<p>Mike and Joe estimate the carbon footprint of their pizzas is 54% lower carbon footprint than standard pizzas. Their packaging is proudly \u2018zero to landfill\u2019, meaning that everything can either be reused, recycled or composted.<\/p>\n<p>All their products are 100% palm oil free, enriched with flax and chia seed, and are a source of omega 3. And on top of that, their pizzas have at least 50% less salt and sugar on average compared to leading meat and dairy pizzas!<\/p>\n<p>Hannah Smith, Investment Director of Anglia Capital Group, said: \u201cOur members loved the story behind One Planet Pizza. Veganism is on the rise and anything we can do to reduce our carbon footprint is surely a good thing, especially if it tastes good too!\u201d.<\/p>\n<p>One Planet Pizza Co-founder, Mike Hill, said: \u201cWe are really excited that such a range of investors believe in One Planet Pizza and what it is trying to achieve.
